This privacy policy describes how Reel Trader ("us", "we", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use reeltrader.io and app.reeltrader.io (the "Service").

We use your data to provide and improve the Service. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Information We Collect

We collect and manage the personal data you provide through our Service. You retain ownership of your recordings and logs. We only collect information that you voluntarily provide to us when creating an account and using the Service:

• Account Information: Email address, name, and authentication details
• From Google Sign-in: If you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and name from your Google account
• Preferences and Tags: Your custom tags, settings, application preferences, and asset-type selections (futures or stocks)
• Billing Information: Subscription status, plan selection, Stripe customer ID, Stripe subscription ID, and limited payment method metadata (card brand, expiration month, last four digits) provided by Stripe; we do not store full payment details on our servers
• Integration Data: Trade logs, executions, or broker data you choose to upload or sync when enabling import integrations, including stock imports
• Essential Diagnostics: Sanitized crash reports and related technical details (error stack traces, device/browser metadata, navigation breadcrumbs) collected automatically in the app to keep the Service stable
• Usage Analytics: Pseudonymous usage statistics (only if you consent during first sign-in); we disable IP/geo tracking where feasible

What Stays on Your Device

By default, screen recordings and trade logs remain on your device and are processed locally in your browser. If you choose a feature that requires upload (e.g., cloud backup or sharing), we will tell you first and only store what is necessary to provide that feature.

This means your most sensitive data - your actual trading activity - remains completely private and under your control unless you explicitly choose otherwise.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and maintain the Service
• Maintain stability and security through essential diagnostics
• Store your account preferences, asset-type selections, and custom tags
• Manage subscriptions, process payments through Stripe, and send billing notices
• Send transactional emails (password resets, account or billing notifications)
• Improve the Service through pseudonymous usage analytics (when enabled)
• Send occasional product updates and feature announcements (only if you opt-in)

Essential Diagnostics

Crash and error monitoring runs automatically in the Reel Trader web application so we can detect outages, investigate defects, and protect the Service from abuse. These diagnostics collect only technical data about an incident—such as sanitized stack traces, device and browser metadata, navigation history, and whether a network request failed. We strip query strings, headers, user identifiers, filenames, and other potentially sensitive details before anything leaves your device.

Diagnostics events are processed by a contracted infrastructure provider strictly to resolve incidents on our behalf. They apply only within the authenticated app experience; public marketing pages are not instrumented with this system. You cannot disable essential diagnostics, but you can exercise your privacy rights at any time by contacting us.

We will never sell or rent your information to anyone.

Third Party Services

We work with trusted third-party service providers to operate our Service:

• Analytics Services: With your consent, we collect pseudonymous usage statistics to improve the Service. No personally identifiable information is shared beyond typical web analytics data
• Diagnostics Provider: We rely on a contracted error monitoring service to process essential diagnostics for app users using only sanitized technical data
• Cloud Service Providers: We use secure cloud infrastructure to host our Service and store your account data
• Payment Processing & Subscriptions: Stripe securely processes payments, manages subscriptions, and provides us with customer and subscription identifiers along with limited payment method metadata; Stripe stores and protects your full payment details

These service providers are contractually bound to protect your information and use it only to provide services to us.

By using the Service you understand your data may be processed in the United States.

Your Control Over Information

You may opt out of any future communications from us at any time. You can contact us at reeltrader.app@gmail.com to:

• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Opt out of product update emails
• Request a copy of the data we have about you
• Express any concerns about our use of your data

Security

We take reasonable precautions to protect your information. We use encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest for server-stored data, row-level security, and least-privilege access. Stripe is responsible for securing cardholder data it processes on our behalf. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Since your screen recordings and trade data remain on your device by default, they are protected by your own device security measures.

Cookies and Tracking

We use essential cookies to maintain your session and authenticate your account. Analytics cookies help us understand Service usage (only with your consent). Essential diagnostics rely on first-party instrumentation and continue to operate even if you disable analytics, because they are required to keep the Service reliable. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some Service features may not function properly without them.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the effective date. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

October 2025 update: we documented active Stripe billing, clarified integration data handling (including stock imports), and restated security practices for payment information.

Data Retention

Account, preference, and subscription metadata (including Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, plan selection, and invoice references) persist while your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your profile, preferences, recordings, and billing metadata from active systems, subject to short operational backups and legal, accounting, or taxation requirements. To prevent coupon-code abuse we retain a minimal record—your normalized email address and redemption markers—so that former customers cannot repeatedly redeem invite-only discounts. Server access logs (which don’t contain personal data) are retained for a limited period for security and operational purposes.

Children's Privacy

Our Service is not directed to children under 13; we don't knowingly collect their data.
